Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Required fitness for this Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Walking in higher altitudes is a lot of physically exacting than walking within the lower altitudes, however, if we are with wonderful health with average shape, have a positive perspective, self-worth and powerful determination, we will be able to accomplish the trek with success.

Exercise and jogging frequently for a few weeks before the trip is a nice plan to boost our strength and stability. Itinerary


  • 1
  • Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
  • You will be met at the airport by our Him Ganga Treks representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Rest at the hotel and briefing about the trip. There should be time to explore the city’s many charms on your own too. Overnight (O/N) in Kathmandu (breakfast included).

  • Day 2 Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu
  • After breakfast, you will now go for the sightseeing some of the cultural heritage sites within the Kathmandu city. You will explore the UNESCO listed sites; Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

    At the end of the day, a trek orientation program will take place. And you will also get an extra time for additional trekking preparation to ensure all packing and required equipment.

  • Day 3 Drivel to Pokhara
  • After hot breakfast, you will take a 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. You will enjoy the beautiful scenic view of terraced rice field, beautiful landscape and spectacular panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal.

  • Day 4 Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hile (1,430m)
  • Pokhara is the gateway to the Annapurna region. You will drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek for about a half an hour and start the trek to Hile. it is an easy walk of 3-4hours to Hile through the bank of the Modi Khola. You will spend the night at the local guesthouse.

  • Day 5 Trek to Ghorepani (2,840m)
  • After breakfast at the morning, this trek gently begins with a long and steep climb on rock staircases to the village of Tikhe Dhunga and Ulleri. Here you will get marvellous views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trails continue through rhododendron and oak forests for several hours and reach the large village Ghorepani. This village is on the top of the hill and offers the excellent views of entire Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. You will spend the night at the local guesthouse.

  • Day 6 Hike up to Poonhill for sunrise and trek to Tadapani (2,610m)
  • Early in the morning, you will take a short hike to Poonhill to see the beautiful sunrise and different breathtaking views of colorful mountains. From here you will see Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7,855m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Lamjung Himal (6,931m) and other peaks in Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna mountain ranges. Trek back to Ghorepani for breakfast, then you will head to Tadapani crossing rugged rhododendron forest. That night you will overstay in a local guesthouse of Tadapani.

  • Day 7 Trek to Chhomrong (2,140m)
  • The trail descends down through the rhododendron forest and you can hear the birds chirping. After walking down about 45 minutes the trail goes very steep downhill through the terraced field and a suspension bridge over the Kimrong Khola.

    The trail ascends up and then straight walk to Chhomrong at the elevation of 2140 m. Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong will take around five hours.

    Chhomrong offers you the close view of Mt. Annapurna south, Himchuli and the Virgin Peak above the village and the view of Mt. Machhapuchhre. Chhomrong is highly populated by the Gurung people. You will get a great chance to explore the perfect hospitality of Gurung communities.

    That night you will overstay in a local guesthouse of Chhomrong village.

  • Day 8 Trek to Dovan (2,500m)
  • After leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends to cross the Chhomrong Khola through the suspension bridge. The trail passes through thick and dark silent rhododendron and Oak forest up to Khuldi Ghar.

    Then trekking route descends into long, steep, slippery stone staircase and deep bamboo and rhododendron forests through which leads Dovan. It nearly takes 5 hours to reach Dovan from Chhomrong. You will spend a night at a local guesthouse of Dovan.

  • Day 9 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)
  • After hot breakfast, you will trek for 4 hours to Deurali. After a short break, you will again continue to reach your most awaited destination Annapurna Base Camp. This area is also known as Annapurna sanctuary.

    You will walk along the Machhapuchhre Base Camp to reach there. It gives you the natural views and creates more excitement towards nature.

    This place offers you the spectacular views of the snowcapped Himalayas including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli Peak, Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), Lamjung Himal and Barah Shikhar. You will spend the night at the local guesthouse.

  • Day 10 Trek to Bamboo (2,345m)
  • After enjoying the beautiful mountain views you will trek down to Dovan or Bamboo through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. To reach there, you will walk around 6 hours. Following the previous trek route, you will descend to Bamboo through the bank of the Modi Khola.

    You will explore the place and spend a night at the local guesthouse.

  • Day 11 Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,760m)
  • From Bamboo, you will hike for half an hour and reach Jhinu Danda. It is pleasant jungle walk to Sinuwa and then heads down to Chhomrong Khola. The trail ascends through the long stone staircase to upper Chhomrong and then trail descends to Jhinu Danda. Here, you can take bath in natural hot water and will spend the night in a local guesthouse.

  • Day 12 Trek to Pothana (2,100m)
  • From Jhinu Danda, you will cross few suspension bridges and many waterfalls on the way. The trail continues through scattered trees and leads steeply up to the ridge at Deurali. From here you will enjoy the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and the right side of the range.

    Then the trail drops down and takes to scenic village Pothana. You can explore the traditional village or watch the sunset in the mounts. You will spend the night at a local guesthouse.

  • Day 13 Trek down to Phedi (1,500m) and back to Pokhara
  • It is the last day of the trek and you will hike around 6 hours down to Phedi. Leaving behind the snow-capped mountain in background you will head towards the Pokhara with the good memory of the trek.

    After reaching the Pokhara, you will take a short refreshing break and visit the lake city of Pokhara. You will spend the night at the hotel.

  • Day 14 Drive back to Kathmandu
  • After hot breakfast, you will travel back to Kathmandu through Prithvi Highway. You will reach Kathmandu city by 6 hours scenic bus ride. So, you will get a chance to explore the city and buy some gifts and souvenirs to take back home.

  • Day 15 Final departure
  • Free morning in Kathmandu . Like the day before, the guide stays with the group to help you, if you want to make visits in the valley. Depending on the schedule of the flight back , we still take a little time to hang out in the afternoon or we leave directly for the airport to take our flight home.
