Itinerary


  • 1
  • Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
  • You will be met at the airport by our Him Ganga Treks representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Rest at the hotel and briefing about the trip. There should be time to explore the city’s many charms on your own too. Overnight (O/N) in Kathmandu (breakfast included).

  • Day 2 Drive to Jagad by jeep (1,300 m), bank of Marshangdi river 7 - 8 hrs.
  • Early morning departure by private bus to Dumre ,Besisahar and Jagad . This route allows you to cross many villages and cross bustling bazaars. After Besisahar, the road turns into a stony track, a bit bumpy but lined with beautiful landscapes of rice fields and traditional villages of Nepal. This is the occasion of the first pictures of a Nepal still very authentic. We ship in SUVs … Some landslides can sometimes delay us or force us to change vehicle several times; Faced with these little adventures of everyday life, it is wise to follow the example of the Nepalese who keep smiling and good mood … The track rises in the gorge of the Marsyangdi Khola where we see by moment themassive Manaslu (8163m) , promise of panoramas out of the ordinary … We finally arrive on the plateau Tal . Installation at the lodge, between waterfall and river, for a well deserved night.

  • Day 3 Trek to Dharapani (1,800 m), 5 - 6 hrs view Annapurna two view.
  • At the end of the plateau where we slept, a bridge crosses the river Marsyangd i. The trail continues in sawtooth (in good weather we discover the pyramid of Kang Guru at 6981 m) until the exit of a narrow gorge that marks the arrival in the town of Dharapani . It is a big village of junction between the massifs of Manaslu and Annapurnas .

  • Day 4 Trek to Chame (2,670 m), 5 - 6 hrs view of Mount Manaslu.
  • Our trekking continues along the Marsyangdi River . Arriving at the village of Koto, the panorama offers, in our back, a nice view on the massif of Manaslu . In the big village of Chame, a village of Tibetan architecture, we turn the mills of the long prayer walls that confirm our arrival in Buddhist country . The trail weaves between river and rocky bars then rises gradually in a beautiful pine forest. At the exit of this one, the valley widens then on the country of Manang . It is a vast plateau where Tibetan villages nestle with breathtaking views of glaciers and surrounding peaks. ..

  • Day 5 Trek to Pissang (3,200 m), 5 - 6 hrs view of Upper Pissang peak.
  • From Dukhure Pokhari, the trail crosses one of the last wooded areas before reaching Pisang, an old Tibetan-style village. .. Between the prayer flags flapping in the wind, we pass a small turquoise lake before a steep climb to Gyaru . At 3700 meters, this village, located at the foot of the Annapurna II (7932 m) offers a magnificent landscape on the entire north face of the chain. From there, the route takes a beautiful path in balcony ; the sight is striking! It is certainly one of the most beautiful stages of this trekking . Arrival in Ngawal, Tibetan hamletlittle visited where we enjoy a break in the heart of Nepal with customs still present. Sometimes huge vultures (Himalayan griffons) hover a few dozen meters above our heads. Night in this typical village, facing an exceptional panorama …

  • Day 6 Trek to Manang (3,540 m), 6 - 7 hrs cross Marshangdi river and climb upto ghyaru village and Ngawal village (3,600 m).
  • From the hamlet of Ngawal , the descent is made by an often dusty path that sneaks between the juniper trees and rose hips. Continue to Braga, beautiful village built in horseshoe at the foot of chiseled rocks. It is a beautiful site and ideal for photos. Visit the hamlet, built between fairy chimneys , and the thirteenth century monastery , one of the oldest in the region (provide headlamps because part of the old frescoes are located in very dark areas). After strolling in this magical place, there are a few kilometers down the valley (about an hour) to reach Manang, the last true village in the Marsyangdi valley.Manang is also a sort of base camp before the climb to the Thorung La and the universe of high altitude. Afternoon rest or walk in the surroundings.

  • Day 7 Rest day and acclimatization day.

  • Day 8 Trek to Ledar (4,200 m), 4 - 5 hrs and hike upto (4,800 m).

  • Day 9 Trek to Thorung Phedi (4500 m) 4hrs
  • The trail rises into meadows of low vegetation before descending to cross a small torrent tumbling the peaks forming the border with Tibet. Then, the climb resumes in an increasingly mineral universe until the base camp of Thorung Phedi that we reach after 3h or 3h30. The night is at Thorung Phedi lodge (4500 m) . Last night before the Thorung La passage the next day!

  • Day 10 Trek to Muktinath (5416 m) (3670 m) 8/9 hrs
  • or the success of our day, the departure to Thorung La is very early (between 3h30 and 5h of climb) to reach the pass before 9 am to enjoy the view and avoid a wind sometimes violent. The climb is slow and steady; it is good to take your time thinking to hydrate well. The sun rises, warms us, while depositing beautiful lights on the 6000 meters around us … From the pass, the view is extraordinary on the massifs of Annapurnas, Chulu, Daulaghiri and the desert foothills of Dolpo and Mustang. This is a great reward for the efforts made over the past few days … After admiring this exceptional panorama, a long descent (where the view continues to dazzle us) takes us to Muktinath, located at the gates of Mustang . It is a great place of pilgrimage since the dawn of time … Visit shrines raised between willows and poplars, where Buddhist pilgrims and Hindus meet Installation in a local lodge.

  • Day 11 Trek to Jomosom via Lubra village(2740 m) 6hrs
  • By a little route taken in Lower Mustang , we leave Muktinath to cross the pass of Dang La (3900 m). The view is exceptional on the north face of the Nilgiri, on the Dhaulagiri (8167 m) and on the Tukuche peak. Descent between pastures, where sometimes graze blue sheep , to the small village of Lupra . This one has one of the last bön monasteriesof the region (the ancient religion that prevailed in the Himalayas before the arrival of Buddhism). The peaceful life of this village still authentic slice with the modern world located only 2 hours walk … From Lupra, the path goes down in the riverbed to join the track and Jomosom, big administrative, lively and shopping on the banks of the river. the Kali Gandaki. Installation at the lodge.

  • Day 12 Drive - Pokhara 8 - 9 hrs.
  • Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara for about 8 hrs or Morning flight to Pokhara . The plane passes over the deepest gorges in the world, between the summits of Annapurna (8091 m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m) .

  • Day 13 Visit Pokhara.
  • Free time to discover Pokhara and its surroundings. The guide stays with the group (but can not divide if everyone goes on his side …).

  • Day 14 Flight to Kathmandu
  • Flight to Kathmandu , before being transferred to the same hotel at the beginning of stay. Free time at the end of the day to discover the city at your leisure.

  • Day 15 Visit around Kathmandu
  • Free time to discover the capital and its surroundings. The guide stays with the group (but can not divide if everyone goes on his side …). We recommend the Bodnath stupa early in the morning (to enjoy the pilgrims’ ambience), as well as visits to the ancient royal cities of Bhaktapur (a true living museum of the valley) and Patan . Capitals of small kingdoms in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, both cities are renowned for their beautiful Newar-style architecture with beautifully carved brick and wooden temples and their multi-storey pagoda roofs. We meet again in the evening for a last dinner together

  • Day 16 Depature
  • Free morning in Kathmandu . As the day before, the guide stays with the group . Appointment for the lunch, then according to the schedule of the return flight, we take a little time to hang out or we leave directly for the airport to take our flight home.
