Manaslu Expedition follows the remote tracks over the Manaslu mountain range which is recently opened due to this less number of trekkers visit. This trekking has always been the territory of the mountaineering expeditions.

It stands on the border among Gorkha and Manang districts which lies in the western part of Nepal north side of Gorkha district, along with the Budhi Gandaki Valley. Manaslu Expedition treated as the high peak of Gorkha Massif.

In 1956, a Japanese expedition team led by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu Sherpa climbed Mt. Manaslu. Manaslu is a name taken from the Sanskrit idiom, which means “Mountain of the Spirit”. The native name for Manaslu is termed Kutang.

Manaslu delivers an option to Cho Oyu for those who desires to ascend a more diverse and daring 8,000m peak and is the best substitution to Cho Oyu in the autumn season.

Best Time for the expedition

Required permit for Manaslu Expedition

Necessary permits for this expedition are:

  1. Restricted Area Permit.
  2. Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) permit.
  3. Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permit.

1. should be organized through a registered trekking agent. 2 and 3 you’ll get yourself from the Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu. Note, the TIMS card isn’t needed once you purchase a restricted area permit.

You’ll get to give four passport photographs. Because of the Restricted area permit, the govt of Nepal will track how many trekkers an organization is sending to those areas, estimate the number of staff sent with them and also the approximate income to the trekking company then tax consequently. thus few firms can provide permit only while not a guide.
