Rolwaling Region to Traverse Everest Treks

Throughout the year, February – June, and September – November are the best time for this trek. During this time, you can get easy trails because of good weather condition than another period of time. And your journey will be memorable because of the stunning views of nature and beautiful trails.

However, visitors trek during July and August and trekking can carry out but one cannot get the clear visibility because of rainfall.

Required passport validity and the requirement for Rolwaling Region to Traverse Everest Treks

All outsider apart from Indians, need a visa to enter Nepal. Visa is possible on landing within the Tribhuvan International airport. Squad might also request online for VISA. Visa will continue at the central migration office.

A passport with at least 6-month validity beyond the period of the trip is essential, and it’s your responsibility to get your own visa. You may need 2 passport size pictures for the Visa. Itinerary


  • 1
  • Day 1 Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
  • You will be met at the airport by our Him Ganga Treks representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Rest at the hotel and briefing about the trip. There should be time to explore the city’s many charms on your own too. Overnight (O/N) in Kathmandu (breakfast included).

  • Day 2 Drive to Jagad (1,000 m), 6 - 7 hrs bank of Tama koshi.
  • After breakfast, take the road to Lhasa passing through the Bhote Koshi valley. After a drive among the rice fields and sherpa villages, you cross Charikot and then arrive at Dolakha (1660 m). Your route goes up the valley, the track is more and more difficult but the end of the journey approaches. In the distance, you can see small villages of the Magar, Newar, Chetri and Brahman communities. After this long day of road you arrive at the small village of Jagat (1400 m) where a well deserved rest awaits you.

  • Day 3 Trek to Simgaon (2020 m) 4 to 5 hours.
  • Short step. For a while, your path follows the river. You are traveling east, leaving the main route to Tibet. The path climbs steeper before reaching terraced fields: mani walls and chortens announce the approach of the village … You cross the river Tama Kosi and continue your trek to Simgaon and your camp established near a gompa (monastery). You get a wonderful view of the second highest peak of the Rolwaling Himal, the Gaurishanker.

  • Day 4 Trek to Dovan (2760 m) 6 hours.
  • You walk along the mountainside, through thick forests of rhododendrons and magnolias, and pastures fields in summer. Your trek continues at altitude before descending the river and the bottom of the valley. You set up your camp at Dovan, a small clearing in a dense

  • Day 5 Trek to Beding (3690 m) 5 to 6 hours .
  • You cross the Rolwaling khola to hike through the northern jungles. The path climbs gradually to a clearing, crossing the villages of Nyimare and Ramding and farm fields to reach Beding (3690 m), main and last village of the region. Visit this Sherpa village, located in a narrow gorge with 36 inhabited houses and a small monastery. You will see the Menlugtse (7181 m), the highest peak of the Rolwaling Himal.

  • Day 6 Trek to Naa (4183 m) 4 hours.
  • Short stage to reach this small hamlet of alpage, used during the beautiful season. The climb is rough but the view of the surrounding mountains and the snow-capped peaks is exceptional. At the bottom are the very steep and immaculate faces of Chobutse (6689 m) and Chugimago (6259 m). Further north, the granite walls forming the border ridge with Tibet invite you to climb.

  • Day 7 Hiking day visit Guru Rimpoche cave Na (4183m}
  • Day of acclimatization and local exploration. Here, no village but some mud huts used in the summer by the cowherds. You can explore the surrounding nature, and enjoy the beautiful panorama offered here.

  • Day 8 Trek to Tsho rolpa (4530 m) - kabuk (4560 m) 6 hours.
  • You cross the river to reach the south bank and then follow the river to the crossing point near Yersa, the last village of shepherds. After a wooden bridge, you go back to the front moraine just behind the Tsho Rolpa lake dam. You set up your camp at Kabuk, behind the huge moraine of the lake. This location offers splendid views of the surrounding peaks including Tsoboje (6689 m) and Dragker-Go (6793 m).

  • Day 9 Trek to Tashilaptsa base camp (4980 m) 5 to 6 hours.

  • Day 11 Trek to Thyangbo travers tashilaptsa{5735m} 6-7 hours.
  • From Base Camp we can see all mountain views. We descent by 60 meter by rope to Khumbu Valley and then walk on Glacier for about 1 hrs.Then we walk for additional 1.5 hrs to reach Ngole

  • Day 12 Trek to Thame (3800 m) 3-4 hours.
  • You walk east, down the snowy slopes from the upper Thame Khola to Thengpo, a small village of shepherds surrounded by vast pastures. From here you can admire the Ama Dablam, Makalu and Lumding Himal Mountains. After 2 hours of descent, you reach Thame, dominated by a small monastery.

  • Day 13 Trek to Namche (3450 m) 5 hours.
  • You hike to Namche Bazaar, capital of Sherpas. The path descends to cross the Bothe Koshi River by a suspension bridge. After a short climb, you resume the descent to cross many villages, mani and walls of prayer. Your path also crosses a pine forest and, at the top of the ridge, disperses to several directions. From here you can see Namche Bazaar and its multicolored roofs where you spend the night. Namche is the main trading center of Khumbu: every Saturday, traders from other villages in the valley go up there to trade their products on the market.

  • Day 14 Trek to Lukla {2800m}7-8 hours.
  • In the event of a delay on the route or difficult weather conditions (wind), you have one more day to climb the Pachermo. If you are on time, you will enjoy this day in the Sherpa capital of Khumbu. According to the desire, a half-day trek on the heights of Namche Bazar: villages of Khunde or Khumjung (3780 m), landscapes of pastures and small well-ordered fields. Afternoon free on Namche Bazar. Admire the sunset over Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Everest over Namche !!!

  • Day 15 Fly to Kathmandu.
  • Today, you start your trek by a relatively steep descent to the Dhudkosi River. Then you go along the river, pass through several villages: Monjo, Jorsale and Phakding in particular, before you stop at Phakding for lunch. You continue your trek to the small village of Surke, point of arrival of this beautiful day of walking.
